Volvo Bus Angamaly to Aroor - Conductor extracted hundred rupees extra

I am a regular traveller from Angamaly to Vytilla. On 17 th October I boarded the Angamaly Aroor bus (Volvo A/C bus) and asked for a ticket to Obron mall.I gave Rs 100 to the conductor. He gave me a ticket but when I asked for the balance he maintained that I had not given him the money. So I had to pay for the ticket again. So I had to pay extra 100 rupees to the conductor. The conductor was using thirdgrade language also. I called the Angamaly KSRTC and complained immediately on 17 October 2010. The conductor was not wearing a name badge either. Is it not compulsory to wear name badges for the conductors of KSRTC ?

In general the Volvo conductors are very polite and the service is good. Why cant they post experienced and well behaved conductors in Angamaly - Vytilla route?

KSRTC conductors should wear name badges. With name badges they will be more responsible.
Yesterday evening one conductor was abusing me and extracted 100 Rupees extra in a Volvo A/C lowfloor bus from Angamaly to Aroor on 17th october 2010 evening 7 pm.

The conductor was not wearing name badge. Whom should I complain ? Can you give me the proper channel through which the KSRTC authorities could be reached.

Complaint From: Dr. Jayaraj

  1. dear dr jayaraj,
The same thing is happening all over kerala for a minimum of last 10 years. When I was working at thrissur for an year & travel to kottayam in every weekend the samething happened 4 times. And also when we give a 100 rupee note (or 500 or 1000) KSRTC conductors will never give the balance till the end of journey. Evenif they get a 1 lakh collection in their bag they will never give the balance. Also when the stop come we will forget the balance and will rush to our activities. please see that ladies are the most affected persons. i also made several arguments inside bus & made complaints. But no result..They will stick on to their assessments. The only thing we can do is give the correct amount as 10 rupee notes or coins...

  3. Mr Jayraj, It is my request that in the interest of other passengers, that you find out the name of the person in question and write a complaint addressed the the Managing Director KSRTC. The name of hte concerned conductor wont be difficult ot find as not many have volvo duty. It is understandable if he takes the 100 bucks but use of obscene language against passengers is simply not acceptable and should not be tolerated.

  4. When conductors do not have change I force them to write the balance amount behind the tickets. This has being very effective and if the conductor is not willing to do it, ask him for his name.

  5. KSRTC should focus more on interstate routes especially bangalore by providing new buses and staffs with good track record both behaviourwise and skillwise. There are several comments on slow driving and rude behaviour. Passengers should forward their complaints to the respective authorities without which no one is going to know on the issue and no action will be initiated. If we can have a common platform to raise issues and do proper follow-up since majority of the users don't have time for the followup, we could help in KSRTC's performance imporvement. It is the public's responsibility to give proper feed back for the corporation's improvement, am sure no one has the hope in that but we can give a try and fight.

    good luck
