Controversy Regarding Punalur - Guruvayoor LSFP

Today (16/10/10) I was travelling in the 6.20 AM Punalur - Guruvayoor LSFP (RAE 763) from Punalur to Guruvayoor. Three ladies entered in the bus from Ernakulam and asked tickets for Aluva. They wanted to go to some other place from Aluva bus stand by catching another bus. The conductor shouted at those 3 ladies saying that this is a LSFP bus and it will not go to Aluva bus station and they can get down at Aluva Byepass Junction which is 2.5 kms away from the bus station. " The ladies told him politely that all FP buses and LSFP buses enter Aluva bus station. Only Super class buses are the ones that will not enter Aluva town in the day time. Also they told that Superfast buses of Paravoor and Mala enters Aluva bus station.

" THAT WAS TRUE. Most of the passengers inside the bus who are familiar with the stops in Aluva sup! ported this. But the conductor was firm on his stand and he used harsh words against those poor ladies who were helpless. But he stopped the bus at a stop from where they can get buses to Aluva bus stand.

I asked about this matter to my friend who is working in KSRTC Punalur. He told me over phone that it is clearly published in Punalur KSRTC bus stand as a notice to the crew of the Guruvayoor LSFP saying that "the bus must enter Aluva bus station and Cherthala Bus station". Also it is signed by the higher authority in the KSRTC.
If these conductors and drivers are not following an obeying the orders that have been issued by higher authorities in such a manner, then why KSRTC must issue orders. Is it for making the public a fool?
This bus was transferred from Punalur depot to Guruvayoor depot in 1995. It was transferred back to Punalur in 2005 by a court order. As the case was progressing the then KSRTC MD was also cross examined at Punalur court.

When the bus was transferred back they changed the route through Kayamkulam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam instead of Adoor, Kottayam , Moovattupuzha and while going back to Punalr now it is through Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kollam, Kottarakkara. Now the passengers have to pay more and have to travel a long time also. This was only for helping the crew to enable them to be eligible for getting 3 duties. Through the other route it was only 2 duty.

Now the timing has been arranged also in such a manner for entering all the bus stations by the side of NH 47. But they hesitate to enter Aluva. This is done by delaying a lot by making the bus wait at Ernakulam bus station. Authorities must open their eyes now. If the crew does not wish to enter Aluva bus station then in the destination board you have to include the boarding point as Aluva Byepass.(Now nothing about Aluva is written there. So how passengers will know whether it goes to Aluva bus station or not. So passengers assuming that it will enter Aluva bus station and enters this bus. So they will have to pay again for getting another bus from bye pass to Bus stand. This should not happen in future ).

The duty for the crew is calculated by adding the kilometers from Byepass to Bus stand. Also they need not have to pay for the Diesel. The Corporation will bear its cost. Then why the crew of ONLY THIS BUS are not willing to enter the Aluva bus station? Does Punalur KSRTC people have any hatred towards the passengers waiting for the LSFP buses at Aluva bus station and at Aluva Bank Junction. The passengers waiting at Aluva Byepas junction are waiting only for the Superfast buses.

So take a decision whether to leave Aluva or NOT?

  1. this is really a sad story..the crew is yet to understand what polite behaviour is.
but one thing.i think the return journey of the bus is via ekm-alp-kylm-adur-ptpm to plr..(and not via klm-ktr)

  2. The bus going through EKM-ALP-KYLM-ADR-PTPM is the old Chalakudy - Punalur FP. GVR-PLR LSFP returns via EKM-ALP-KYLM-KLM-KTR since 2007 march.
