16 Ashok Leyland Low Floor Buses Coming To KSRTC

I hope everyone have seen my last post with some JnNURM bus's pictures which was going to Kerala from Bangalore. Those pictures were spotted near Hosur. Today i was coming from Pondicherry and surprisingly I have seen all those JnNURM low floor Non Ac buses parked in a petrol bunk near to Krishnagiri. (In between Krishnagiri and Hosur).

Total number of 16 Low floor buses were there. And when i asked the people in that petrol bunk, they told me that "these buses are coming from Belgaum and going to Kerala. They will be moving from here by tomorrow". But still i couldn't find the builder's  name from that buses.

Other than this, I have seen a Low floor Volvo bus which is going from Bangalore to Kerala almost near to Hosur. when i was on the way to Pondi. (ie on Friday night).

It seems to be that Kerala RTC is very much interested to purchase the Rear engine Leyland buses, which other RTC's are not doing. Hope these buses will perform good in Kerala roads, Especially in Cochin.

Here is some exclusive pictures only for the readers of KSRTCBlog. See the pics and comment your opinions.

  1. Hi all,
The bus shells are supposedly made by a company called Mag Alma Motors, based in Belgaum. Got this info from the Net.

  2. Yes you are right Sujith, only our RTC buys these rear engine Leyland buses and not any other RTC's. They go for TATA Marcopolo rear engines under JNURM scheme. See the success of such buses which are running for BMTC in Bangalore and BEST in Mumbai. Even the bigger surprise is that i could see many TATA Marcopolo rear engine JNURM buses running in Coimbatore for TNSTC !!!!!!!
