SenKumar To Become Transport Commissioner

KSRTC Is going to face a big loss. Now you may be wondering what this guy is telling?
Yes, The Chairman and Managing Director of KSRTC, T.P Senkumar is moving to Transport Department as Transport Commissioner.

Here is a news which appeared in today's Express Buzz

"Setting aside rumours about allegations of conflict between them, Transport Minister Jose Thettayil, ADGP and KSRTC CMD T P Senkumar have decided to work shoulder-to-shoulder to cleanse the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD).

Jose Thettayil, on Monday, told ‘Express’ that Senkumar would be appointed as Transport Commissioner and the order regarding this would come within a week. ‘’The decision has been taken after getting consent from Senkumar. There were reports that we had some strong disagreements following the disconnection of power supply to the RT office by the KSRTC. It is totally baseless. Senkumar is a good officer, efficient and not corrupt at all. And all these makes him an ideal choice for this cadre post,’’ he said.

The Transport Minister said he had already held discussions with Senkumar regarding measures to be taken to rejuvenate the Motor Vehicles Department, which is presently facing a slackened phase. Senkumar will continue as the managing director of the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC) as well. However, Senkumar was not available for comment.

Meanwhile, the Government was yet to find a replacement for Senkumar to be appointed as the head of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). ‘’KSRTC is already on track. The government is looking for a suitable officer to replace him’’, the Minister said.

According to Jose Thettayil, the appointment of Senkumar as Transport Commissioner will benefit the KSRTC as well. ‘’Presently, the KSRTC management has some grievances that the Motor Vehicles Department is not supporting the Corporation. According to KSRTC, the MVD is always taking a biased approach particularly on matters regarding the operations of parallel services in the State. I think, as Transport Commissioner, Senkumar can tackle these problems and can support the Corporation,’’ the Minister said.

Earlier, Senkumar, who took over as KSRTC CMD in 2006, had requested a transfer from the post twice saying that he could continue in the post only if the State Government was ready to reimburse the money spent as social costs and free the Corporation from the burden of pension expenses.

His suggestion for introducing a contributory pension scheme in the corporation is yet to be addressed."
