Volvo To Moovattupuzha - Riding High On Success

People prefer to travel, drivers feel thrilled to drive, conductors feel delighted to do their job and the KSRTC excited to manage it... What is it? ‘Volvo’ solves this riddle!

KSRTC has introduced 10 new low floor AC Volvo buses to Moovattupuzha, Kothamangalam, Koothattukulam, Paravur, Piravom, Perumbavoor and Mattancherry on last Friday.

The recently started Volvo bus services are getting the tremendous response and has succeeded in attracting a large number of commuters of all categories including businesspersons, officials, and students. Many people frankly opt to travel by standing onboard Volvo rather than to travel by ordinary city buses.

The buses have already succeeded in assuring profit for the KSRTC. Each bus between Ernakulam and Moovattupuzha earns an average of over Rs. 15,000 per day for three trips. Almost all the buses to eastern parts are getting an EPKM of 50+ while the required EPKM for these buses to run without loss is Rs-48.

Most of the passengers found the low floor of the bus as more comfortable, particularly the women and elderly people.
