It Pours In AC Bus - KSRTC Is Going To Court Against TATA

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation is going to court against TATA. This decision is because of the yesterdays incident happened in Kottayam - Bangalore AC Bus.

For some 40 passengers traveling in the the KSRTC's Kottayam Bangalore AC Bus on August 15, it was a ‘soaking feeling’, because of the rain and that got them all wet. Water was constantly leaking from the bus, as it was raining heavily yesterday.

Surprisingly, some passengers called the KSRTC's Control room and they did not get a good reply from them.

WET, NOT SWEAT, With heavy droplets of water falling on their heads through the poorly maintained roof of the bus, some passengers used curtains to wipe the water off them. Some used Umbrella. They also removed suitcases kept in the luggage hold. “I have a laptop that my company has given me. I cannot afford to get it wet. So i struggled a lot to kept that laptop safe. One passenger shared his experience with ksrtcblog.

Poorly Maintained

When enquired to a staff, he said that nothing has been done despite repeated complaints to authorities. “If they give us a badly-maintained bus, we have no choice but to drive it. These buses are not maintained well and we get complaints from commuters all the time.

A Top KSRTC Official said that they are planning to  go to court against TATA, because these buses are delivered to KSRTC by giving 5 Years of time. These buses are just two years old and we had already spent a lot of money for repairing this stuffs including the regular AC failure. He Added.

Summary: So if they are going to stop this Kottayam Bangalore service, the number of services which are operating from Bangalore will come down to 37 from 43. Recently they canceled 2 services to Kasargod, one each to Pala, Ernakulam and Perinthalmanna.

  2. this is indeed pathetic. its so bad and tarnishes the goodwill of an already ailing department. why are the authorities not responding in spite of receiving numerous complaints against the TATA Globus buses. This is not gonna do gud for KSRTC.Authorities should not forget the fact that this is happening at an age in which the competitors like KArtc and private players are coming out with state of the art coaches to meet the increasing passenger inflow.

  4. Same is the case with most of the private players like Shama. Sometime back I travelled by Shama's Volvo (tvm-bang), water started falling like rain. KSRTC should get better buses if the buses provided by tata is not good. Stopping services citing this reason is unfair to passengers who love ksrtc buses.

  5. This is very bad.We can see that this is the third complaint against this bus in this forum. All the TATA globuses are Water buses.

Why KSRTC is not thinking about an AMC with TATA just like what they have with VOLVO?

  6. I don't know why KSRTC buying TATA bus which struggle to travel through our mountainous roads. I have found Leyland buses are far far far better than TATA buses. Why don't they consider the reality and keep only Leyland bus and save millions on maintainence cost.

  7. I dont know why KSRTC is blaming TATA, instead of blamig their own Maintenance. The big mistake they made is, they do not know how maintain the buses. They should handover the maintenance of the Globus buses to Tatas themselves. Also, i think, 5 years is long time for these buses, they should replace these premium buses after 2 years. Off late Tata buses are much better than Leylands, and dont blame Tatas for what you face now
