We cant bear more than this for some years more. But one of their demand is somewhat acceptable. Student charges can be revised to some extent . But that also should not be half of the actual fare.According to me private bus operators need more money to operate buses since the employees in each bus is minimum 3 and maximum 4 (driver 2 conductor and cleaner).

At the same place Ksrtc operates with a single crew of Driver and conductor. By reducing this to 2 employees they can avoid a part of the loss they are facing through fuel price hike without putting the burden on fellow travelers.
This time Ksrtc has not demanded price rise.
And one more thing that when the price of fuel hiked the bus operators would call strike and everytime they ask for fare hike. But one day when international oil prices go down then prices in India also will go downwards.
Then will these operators keep strike or even at least they would say that the bus charges should also be reduced?? Moreover Bus operation is a SERVICE rather than profit. courtesy:BUS CONDUCTOR, VESHAM movies.
So friends come on comment on the topic.
Private bus operators in the State have called off their token strike plan announced on Thursday following discussions they had with Transport Minister Jose Thettayil.
ReplyDeleteMr. Thettayil said their demands for setting up a permanent mechanism to study the problems facing the industry, revision in the student concession, fare hike in view of the increase in operational expenses and the entry of KSRTC buses into the routes allocated to them would be discussed at the Cabinet meeting on July 28.
