No Safety For Passengers In Sulthan Bathery Bus Stand

This is a complaint which we have received from a Passenger Mr. Nagendra Kumar from Bangalore.

I Nagendra Kumar from Bangalore, I was travelling to Kozhikode on 29th October 2010 by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation's Super Fast bus from Mysore, the bus started at 11.30 A.M from mysore and I had a very bad experience while travelling in this bus, the speed of the bus was very slow till forest entrance and inside the forest speed was horrible overtaking all other vehicles, with sound horn disturbing all wild animals.

When the bus reached Bathery bus stand, all monkeys started getting into the bus and opening of all the bags and luggages taking out eatable things and trying to attack passengers, all the passengers were in fear and help less, but all KSRTC staff's were watching this drama from the outside. I was carrying some eatable products and are carried out by monkey's, if this is the way KSRTC Runs the buses, without any safety for the passengers, it will never improve nor make profit.

After this experience at bathery bus stand, had a bad experience at churam, this bus was overtaking heavy vehicles in the churam, the churam road was so horrible and it was very dangerous driving like this caring with 55 passengers. I request KSRTC and forest department to take action against this drivers and bathery bus stand in charge. I would request TV Channels and New paper media a people to involve in this matter. hope passengers will get solution from above problems.

There are much worse experience waiting for you if you travel in private buses all over India. I havent heard of a single incident in ghat region involving KSRTC buses in recent years. Heavy vehicles crawl on churam road and actually they allow passenger buses to overtake them. These are skilled drivers trained to drive on those roads and there is no case of an accident happening...if they are disturbing wild animals, why doesnt the government build roads outside the forests? why blame bus drivers for roads built through forests?

  2. And just 5 days ago, I heard a news on Munnar ghat road that a KSRTC driver steered the bus to safety when the brake failed on a hairpin bend(Manorama News paper on Friday)...how about that ?
