There is no government ban on putting up ‘Swami Saranam' stickers in Sabarimala-bound buses of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) says minister of Devaswom. He also said that the Transport Minister Jose Thettayil had contacted KSRTC authorities and clarified the issue.
All the controversies happened based on the circular issued to all units of the KSRTC by its Chief Traffic Officer In-charge and Executive Director (Operations) on Thursday last saying, “(Suktas like) Swami Saranam or Amme Narayana should not be written on buses or printed on tickets or exhibit religious symbols, suktas or signs while conducting special services”.
