Police arrest KSRTC bus driver for drunk driving

Update on 28-09-2010: This driver is thrown out from the service. He was an M-Panel Staff.

Police in the Kottayam arrested a KSRTC bus driver, Wednesday, after passengers complained that he was driving the vehicle in an erratic manner.

The incident happened on the Palakkad bound Limited Stop Fast Passenger Bus which was coming from Pathanamthitta. Police confirmed that the driver was drunk by conducting the medical test. The bus is transferred to the authorities of Kottayam depot after registering a case against the driver for "Drunk Driving".

People who want to drink should do so when they are not going to drive or be in a position of responsibility.

Moreover, they must accept legal responsibility for anything they do, or fail to do, while under the influence of alcohol. In any case, acute excessive consumption of alcholic drinks has deleterious effects on brain function (with possible legal and tragic complications), the stomach, and on erectile capability.

Chronic acoholism can cause further brain damage, liver dysfunction, and disorders of the pancreas; besides long-term effects on the budget. Besides, submitting one's personality to the mercy of alcoholic intoxication carries with it ethical and moral implications.

  2. Pathanamthitta depot is imitating pala depot. Now you see in future, services will get start cancelled from Pathanamthitta depot. First one will be Coimbatore and next will be Kozhikkode Super Fast.

  3. Hello,

Ksrtc conducts services based on the passenger requirement on certain routes. As per pathanamthitta is concerned, pta-coimbatore fetches double the revenues to the depot than the so-called bangalore-tvla delux service. So Ksrtc will never stop these services from their existing depots. Then about the drivers behaviour, this will be taken care by ksrtc by certain disciplinary actions rather than stopping the service. Sujith- Do u mean cancellation of all these services and hand it over to thiruvalla depot? Since there are lot of passenger demands and requirements in pta region to different places , even certain interstate and long route services have got a chance to shift from thiruvalla to pathanamthitta in few months. Any informations and compliants to pathanamthitta depot can be emailed to the respective email address
