Killer Bus - RAC 723 - Back To Road

I hope everybody remember the accident happened by a Super Fast bus (RAC 723) near Ankamali on 18-05-2010. A KSRTC Super Fast bus lost the control and rolled out from the road near Telk Bridge in Ankamali. The bus was coming from Coimbatore to Thiruvananthapuram. The accident cause the death of 3 passengers travelling on board and around 30 plus passengers were injured.

After the accident, the bus was taken to KSRTC's Aluva Regional workshop. Because of that, We got the first Leyland Super Fast bus which is completely build by Aluva regional workshop.

Later on the bus got transferred from Thiruvananthapuram depot to Kattappana depot.

But the series of accident didn't finish there. On last Wednesday, a young women was killed and another injured when the same bus (RAC 723) hit a two wheeler in Kodimatha near the outskirts of Kottayam. The bus was on it's way from Kattappana to Thiruvananthapuram.

So check whether it is RAC 723 or not, while boarding into a KSRTC Super Fast bus next time.

  1. i have missed this bus twice...
once i was expecting this for the EKM-MDY trip at 8.00 pm operated by KPA depot. RAC 723 was allotted to KPA first. The next time was while waiting to go to CBE, this guy came but it was full. it had only 2 seats in the last row so i decided to cancel the trip. it was transferred to TVM in jan 2010 for TVM-CBE schedule. Now after the accident, i visited RW aluva to see what is the condition of the bus. The mechanics told me that they would be converting the bus to venad ordinary. But few days ago sankar informed that RAC 723 is back on road as Super Fast of KTPNA. The next day again the bus killed a lady at kottayam.

Something interesting is that the picture of SUPER FAST BUS in the official website is the same bus.

see http://www.keralartc.com/ the bus in the center.
