Over View Of KSRTC In Past Four Years

Kerala state road transport corporation is a passenger road transport organization, providing timely and affordable bus services in Kerala and interstate road transport services to Tamilnadu and Karnataka. Kerala state road transport buses serving about 34 to 36 lakhs passengers per day. Kerala state road transport offers regular ordinary buses (Venad and Malabar), Fast Passenger Buses, Super Fast Buses, Super Express Buses, Super Deluxe Buses, AC Air Buses and Volvo Buses to the passengers in Kerala. 


Now let us see the developments and progress happened in last four years for KSRTC at the time of LDF Government under the controlling of CMD T.P Senkumar.

1. Around 75,000 families including regular staffs and retired persons are totally dependent on KSRTC.
2. 34-36 Lakhs of peoples are travelling in KSRTC buses per day.
3. After coming the LDF Government, 18853 peoples got job in KSRTC. Out of this 14402 came through PSC.
4. The percentage of KSRTC Buses hiked from 13 to 26 within last four years.
5. 2072 New buses introduced.
6. Including 351 Malabar services 1035 New Schedules started.
7. Total running Kilometer increased from 11.52 Lakhs to 15.20 Lakhs.
8. New Shopping complexes are under construction.
9. New Shopping complex inaugurated at Kottarakkara. 
10. KMPL target increased to 4.27 from 3.84
11. Reduced the accident rate to 0.18 % for one lakh Km by giving proper instructions and training.
12. Electronic Ticket Machines (ETM) introduced in all units.
13. Introduced Online reservation.
14. Incentive schemes introduced in all units.
15. Introduced more city buses in Thiruvananthapuram.
16. New Sub Depot started in Thalassery.
17. An Operating center started in Piravam.
18. New Shopping complexes are under construction in Thiruvananthapuram, Kattakkata, Kasargod, Ankamali and Kozhikkode.
19. JnNURM buses introduced in Thiruvananthapuram And Ernakulam.

Let us hope our KSRTC will improve a lot in the future.
