KSRTC CMD Planning To Quit

TP Senkumar who did a great job for KSRTC to becoming like this from past three years is planning to quit now because of the step motherly treatment being meted out by the state goverment towards KSRTC.

Senkumar told In an interview given for ksrtcblog.com that he is fed up with this post, as the government and his colleagues are not cooperating with him. I am going for some training for a month and as soon as i come back, I am planning to resign the post, He added.

According to me and anyone who is related to KSRTC was very much happy with Senkumar, he made KSRTC to a good level. He has taken such an initiative to make KSRTC to a higher position. Three years back when he came as CMD, the KSRTC was like a patient who is sleeping on the floor of a government hospital. Now he made that patient to sleep in a ward. But still the government is showing the step motherly treatment towards KSRTC.

Senkumar has sought an immediate transfer from the post following differences of opinion with the Transport Minister’s Office regarding the disconnection of power supply to the RT Office which is functioning in the KSRTC's Transport Bhavan.

The Minister’s Office, on Saturday, took a step-motherly stand giving undue favour to the Regional Transport Office (RTO), here in the dispute against KSRTC regarding the payment of electricity and water bills of RT office functioning in the KSRTC’s building. Aggrieved by the action, Senkumar is learnt to have sent a letter to the Chief Secretary requesting a transfer. KSRTC CMD has also requested to grant earned leave from August 6 onwards in case of delay in transfer.

According to the present issue which is happening with RTO, A news reported in Indian Express is giving below.

On Friday, Senkumar disconnected the power supply to RTO, Civil Supplies Corporation and the Registration Department's Office functioning in the KSRTC's Transport Bhavan at East Fort for not paying their electricity bills. Over the past few decades, the power and water bills of these Government institutions have been paid by the ailing Corporation.

The KSRTC management was forced to cut off supply as these institutions pay no heed to the repeated requests and reminders sent by the Corporation.

However, Transport Minister's private secretary, in his letter on Saturday, demanded immediate restoration of power supply saying that the dispute would be settled later after discussion.

The Minister's office also turned down the KSRTC CMD's request to seek an undertaking from the RTO, saying that they should apply for a separate connection within a stipulated time and would not depend on KSRTC in the future, before restoring the power supply.

Sources pointed out that the Minister's office remained silent on the irresponsibility shown by the RTO in the issue over the years. It may be recalled that Senkumar had expressed his unwillingness to continue in the post aggrieved by the criticisms raised against the KSRTC in the budget speech.
However, he changed his decision following pressure from several political leaders.

According to KSRTC management, the loss making Corporation had paid a sum of Rs 8 crore against the power consumed by these departments by taking a loan at an interest of 14 percent.
