The present accident rate is much lower than the national percentage.The Minister assured that the government would ensure proper rest to the drivers after 61/2 hours of work as per law.

A special programme for improving the efficiency of the drivers is already underway and all the drivers have attended the programme. A special handbook has been released as part of safe and fuel efficiency programme.
KSRTC is also conducting "Save Oil Save KSRTC" campaign along with it. As part of that campaign they have hiked the kilometer target to 5Kmpl.
