It was on last Sunday, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation's Kottayam Bangalore AC service come across A.C. failure. The bus was fully packed from Kottayam itself. The AC stopped working when the bus came near Moovattupuzha.
Here is one complaint which i received from a passenger who traveled in that bus from Kottayam To Bangalore:
"As it was a Sunday and all other buses (including private travels) was fully occupied and there was no chance to get a seat in any other buses, passengers are forced to travel in the bus to Bangalore without AC. They don't pay any attention to the suffocating passengers Only the driver opens the window next to him (being an AC bus other windows cannot be opened) and keeps driving comfortably. I vowed never to travel in an A/C bus again. They don't even bother to change the bus, they just keep driving till Bangalore (~12 hours from Moovattupuzha)."
Official Explanation For This Complaint:
We didn't get a spare bus at that time to take that passengers to Bangalore.
Also that was a Sunday, all the buses were fully packed.
The passengers requested the crew of the bus to take them to Bangalore in any way.
So the crew forced to take them without AC.
Said Mr Gopala Krishnan, Vigilance Officer, KSRTC (In charge for AC Buses) To KSRTCBlog
AC Buses (TATA Globus) are big time flop. AC will not work properly, It pours when it rains outside. These buses need good maintenance. KSRTC is not doing it. For Volvo buses, the company will take care about the maintenance work. KSRTC should immediately replace all the AC buses with Volvo buses, else they cannot survive in this competitive market. Hope they will do it soon.

KSRTC Kottayam A/C Bus Nightmare

KSRTC AC Buses from TATA are in pathetic condition now. They have become old and less maintained. Wonder why KSRTC does not try the brand new B9R of Volvo. Also a bus in EKM-BNGLR route via Hosur is required. Atleast operate one of the current bus via Hosur. This is very useful for people around Electronics City.
ReplyDeleteFor me it was a different thing which happened when i travelled from thrissur-bangalore last wednesday. BUS no- KL-15-6409. Horrible bus. The a/c was so high that i couldnot sleep. It was freezing. I didnot carry any blanket nor any weather-protectives . When i used to travel by volvos i never use any blankets so in the same way i thought and boarded the bus. But the experience was terrible. I told the conductor to reduce , but nothing helped. It was dead freeze . I couldnot sleep a bit in that bus. Even the 8pm bus reached bangalore at 6 30 am in the morning(even though there was no traffic blockades or anything, the bus was running fast ) still we could make up at that time. I wonder what happened to thrissur buses ( once upon a time , these four a/c buses were the fastest after garuda). It disappointed me a lot. I'll never book an a/c bus by kesrtc hereafter(except tvm volvo). You pay good lot of money loosing your sleep and get tired like hell. KSRTC should condemn these buses now(or do some maintenance and run as intra-state services). And one more thing im not able to understand why do they cancel garuda on certain days. They have 2+1 spare with them. when there is a problem they could replace it with spare and run the service instead of cancelling and making the people worry who would be waiting to travel frm bangalore-tv or vice versa.
ReplyDeleteHi Renjith, They have cancelled the Garuda for the maintenance work. RA 100 and RA 102 met with some accidents last week. One was near Dharmapuri and one was near Alathur. Now the buses are running as usual.
ReplyDeleteoops thats bad news..how badly were the garudas damaged?? what happened ..good they are back !!!
ReplyDeleteWhy can't these passengers approach consumer court? They will surely get compensation. The statement of Mr.Gopalakrishnan is nothing but a joke. I would like to know how many spare buses do KSRTC have? How many times they have used it? I do have a lot of break down experiences of Super Fast and Express buses. I have never seen any spare bus. All those time passengers were forced to enter in the next bus in that route.
ReplyDeleteThe luxury bus permit was only for 3 years earlier. Now KSRTC has asked Motor Vehicles Department to increase it for five years.
What is the fate of new volvos that KSRTC promised to introduce before Onam in Bangalore Sector??
ReplyDeleteKSRTC AC Buses from TATA are in pathetic condition now. it is the time to give more preference to Ashok leyland buses
ReplyDeleteHihihii......
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to cusotmer court, there you will be at the back of the queue becuase you can see lot of people to comaplaint against Kallada, Shama, SKS, etc for "moota kadi", late running and changing of buses at state borders due to lack of permits....How many private buses have valid interstate permit to run buses ..?
Again, KSRTC is not using spare buses for Superfast and express, i guess.
DON'T TRY TO FOOL,every persons time are important. All most super Fast and express buses are get more time to travelling Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram. Normally FP get 5.30 to 6.00 h but SF and SE get 6.00 to 6.30h,more money providing get to take a low time but stupid KSRTC providing opposite.very shame for super fast and Express Buses. Please please think KSRTC please do not go to death .please reducing time more passenger will coming and use KSRTC buses for long distances
ReplyDeleteWe need to check the exact running time in between two points. For example, in between TvM-TSR. If it is taking more than that to manage, then it should be reverted ASAP, otherwise it might be the policy.
ReplyDeleteAnd it is not about fooling anybody, but i just mentioned a fact, even i know KSRTC superfast might take moretime....
For your info i was almost one of the first passenger in KSRTC's AC bus that was there from TVM at 1/1:30 PM i guess, i am not sure the exact timing. It was reached thrissur at 12:00AM ...!!!
With the current road standards and fairstages, it would be difficult for SFP and SE to keep on time..
Dont they have any plans of replacing these age old buses?
