Thats a good news. Kodungallur is the most negleted depot of the ksrtc. This service wil be of a great help to the people of this area which is now dominated by private buses., which operates in a gap of 3 minutes.
ReplyDeleteWishing the success of the new service
Happy to hear that. Kodungallur is one of the most negleted centres of ksrtc. This service is going to be a great success for sure. Now the private buses dominate the route having a bus in almost every 3 minute.
ReplyDeleteIt will be of great help to people in this area if the ksrtc authorities start Irinjalakuda- chalakudy chain service and Kodungallur - Chalakudy chain service

Sujith,
It is the time to take action in ground level against those "@Anonymous"...
yes exactly.the days for KERALA RTC is coming to reach more more high.destroy the compotetor by introducing more services
ReplyDeletein future it will be kerala people's road transport corporation
ReplyDeleteBoth KSRTC and private buses should be available for healthy competition.
ReplyDeleteThe people in South Kerala and in nationalised routes suffer due to monopoly of KSRTC.(Things have improved now)
Similar situation prevails in North Kerala,KKD and Kochi due to pvt buses.
KKD-PLKD route has both private and KSRTC which helps the public.
Personally I would prefer 'Ana Vandi'.
I would welcome any new service by KSRTC.

I don't understand the significance of this route. You also said that there are private buses available in this route in 3 -8 minutes. In every 15 minutes private limited stop buses are available. From Kodungallur to Thrissur the running time for private limited stop buses are 1Hr 10mins. Is this service economically feasible for KSRTC? There are many nationalised routes where people need more KSRTC buses. Why don't KSRTC operate more service there? What will be the future of Private buses in this route? As per the present norms KSRTC will not give concession to students on this route as there are enough private buses. It is also another double stand of KSRTC. Here I would like to add one more thing KSRTC is not operating any service after 9:30
ReplyDeleteI just expected a last bus around 10pm from tcr to kodungallur..I doubt, still its not there..
ReplyDeleteI think the decision to start a new chain service in this route is a good decision by ksrtc as it helps to increase their profits. But i think a Town to town service would have been a better one than FS LS as there is a LS service in every 3-5 minutes in this route. THe normal running time in this route is arnd 50-55 minutes on which most of the time is lost entering the irinjalakuda private bus stand. a town town service passing through tana will be of help to the people and the passengers will start to prefer ksrtc over private ones.
ReplyDeleteAlso extending a few services at morning to Palakkad will be helpful to a large section of passengers
Now a days KSRTC has become a profit oriented business establishment run by Government. It is going back from its social responsibilities. This decision is a best example for that. KSRTCstarted Fare Stage Limited Stop (FSLS) services in this route. So they are not bounded to concession to students who travel in this route. Students are very much insulted by private bus workers. If you go to Sakthan Stand (from where all buses starts from Thrissur to Kodungallur) you can see students waiting outside the buses. They are no allowed to enter in buses till all seats are filled or just few seconds before the bus start. By starting FSLS KSRTC is also avoiding students. They are steping back from social responsibilities.
ReplyDeleteMany of the ordinary services during late night are stopped now saying that these services are no economical. I have already stated one example earlier. In main routes where Super Fast or others night services are available passengers are asked to use these services and KSRTC authorities have asked its staff to stop all buses (suer fast, express, LSFP) where ever the passengers wants to get down. But they will be charged full ticket up to the next point. I demand KSRTC should reinstall all those ordinary services during night. The per kilometre income on a route should not be calculated on the basis of a particular trip but it should be on the basis of total trip on that route on a day.
Charges for Night Services are more evrywhere not only in Kerala.
ReplyDeleteCollecting more charges at latenight buses are normal. But how can we justify terminating latenight ordinary services and asking passengers to go by Super Fast buses.
ReplyDeleteWishing the success of the new service. It will be of great help to people in this area if the ksrtc authorities start Irinjalakuda- chalakudy chain service and Kodungallur - Chalakudy chain service
ReplyDeleteHow is Haripad-PTA chain service doing. I heard its a failure and will be closed soon.
ReplyDeleteWish KSRTC a sccessful operation in this area.
ReplyDeleteThere is no stop in Velukara panchayath. After
ReplyDeletechanthakunnu next stop is in Vellangallur. Please consider a stop anywhere in the following places. Kolothum padi(IJK co-op hospital)chira valavu, colony,Nadavarambu school
PTA-HPD is not running in loss. There are very good chances of increasing the no of buses in that route.
ReplyDeleteKSRTC FS_LS is welcomed..Please extend tha service till 10:30 PM.This will help lot of passengers form Erankulam. Initially this may not be in profit, but once passengers are familiarized with the service, more people will utilize this. Please allow student concession too
ReplyDeleteI am not from Trissur side. But, I noticed the misbehavior of pvt crews in all the kerala routes.
ReplyDeleteI think the people in different routes are waiting 4 ksrtc to start service.
I wish all the success to KSRTC Chain in TSR-KDLR route.
The only bus route where we do not get ticket but need to pay price is "kodugallur to trichur".
ReplyDeleteNow we'll get tickets from ksrtc bus..:)
How the KDLR-TSR chain is going ? KSRTC is able to get enough passengers ?
ReplyDeleteKSRTC is getting passengers, Day by day the collection is increasing. It started from 4500 per day and now it is around 5.5-6K.
ReplyDeleteKSRTC will surly get passengers. Kodungallur Thrissur is very busy route. Most of the passengers are employees and students. So the volume of passengers is assured. Here KSRTC is not giving concession to students. So all those who travel will have to take full ticket. Now the responsibility to carry students are for private buses. Even if the KSRTC service is loss government is there to help. During this year total grand received from government is Rs.369.58Cr for 5002 schedules. That is Rs.7,38,804.00 per schedule. Long live KSRTC
ReplyDeleteIt is not surprising to give subsidy to KSRTC, it is govt's responsibility to give subsidy for a govt concern.
ReplyDeleteKSRTC will give student concession once it get fullfledged on the route. I know on the KKD-PLKD route there was no concession for students, but once they got the momentum, started the same.
They even started local services to accomadate students in PMNA-MKD and PMNA-MLPM route. On the newly started PMNA- valanchery route also cocnession is avialable for students.
Also, KSRTC is not the dominating player in the state, so there will be limitation in the case of concession also.
7,38,804/- rupees per year means more than Rs.2000/- per day per schedule. Can we call it subsidy? Still it is loss.

i support aswathy in this issue. Trissur kdlr va mare than sufficient buses in the route. The primary objective of ksrtc should not be profit they should give preference to the travel needs of passengers. There are demands for starting ksrtc ls services in the routes like Chalakudy- Irinjalakuda and Kodungallur- Chalakudy. Why are they not starting services in that route. If u travel in these routes atleast once by the crawling private buses you will understand the need of ksrtc ls services in these routes.
ReplyDeletewhy ksrtc silent in these issues and interested only in tsr-kdlr route?
@ manikandan, who told you that ksrtc not giving concession to students, students can apply for concession monthly pass at KSRTC dippo. Almost all the private bus workers behave rudely to the passengers and students in this route. Now the ball is in our (people) court, that we got a choice that how to go. private buses not giving proper time to get in and get down to & from bus. Really KSRTC is very helpful to both students and ordinary passengers.
