IT 'ians Prefer KSRTC Buses Now - KSRTC Bangalore

Hi readers, this post is a comment which is posted by Smart on the post "Its Time To Replace The Interstate Buses".

Thats a wonderful news that Kerala RTC is planning to buy new Multi Axle Volvo Buses. (All of this are rumors, not confirmed by anyone). But lets see how long it will take to get it done in reality. As earlier we heard about KSRTC buying new Volvos and the present ones came after 2 years. Then its not only the IT people who travels from Bangalore to Kerala. Many others are travelling and non-ITians make use of KSRTC more.

ITians always prefer private buses. We can see the crowd in Madiwala and they pay huge amount to these private operators by which they can still challenge KSRTC using money. Madiwala is not Bangalore. Its just a part on Bangalore and you guys better support others to improve KSRTC by travelling in that more rather than just commenting on it.

Recently in my trip in our Garuda. I had an experience where our Garuda reached Madiwala at around 5.45 pm and need to wait for 2 guys for around 15 minutes there. When they came they were just cool and when the driver told them that from now onwards it is not possible for KSRTC to wait for any passengers more than 5 minutes in any pick up point. Then those guys commented that they left their office (Infosys-i saw their ID) and due to traffic they got late. They told the driver/conductor that they have asked to pick them from another place which is after madiwala since they know that they will be late reaching Madiwala.

Then the driver told that its not possible to pick passengers from all the places where they want. Also he told that all other passengers who boarded the bus from Satellite Bus stand also works and they adjust to catch the bus much earlier than those guys. Then one of the guys told that its not just KSRTC is operating buses to Kerala and they can take Kallada or Sofialines which will wait for them anywhere they ask.
1) Volvo Plying To Bangalore (Hosur Road) (Left)
2) 100 KMPH !!!!!!!! Its Near By Thiruvananthapuram (Right)

The driver then said...there is no point to discuss more and asked those guys to go to their seats....on the way to Salem....this KSRTC bus over took many other private volvos and everyone was looking back to these guys with a smile. See what i want to tell everyone that its though us only KSRTC will grow and not by just the Government. Yes, we all know that IT people can go in any bus which they want. But now the situation is changed. Now even IT people started travelling in our state buses. They have come down to earth from a high level after the recession and now other people who do other jobs are equivalent to them.

I pray to got that ITians don't make our KSRTC also costlier to travel as they did in the case of Autos in Bangalore. Hope most of you understood why Auto people don't run in with their meters on....and demands huge amounts all the day and there are 'some' people who give them what they ask...

Save KSRTC....Save Bangalore...god!!!!!!!!!!

how much time does it take to reach Trivandrum from bangalore??? Ke SRTC Garuda takes less than 14 hours and Ka SRTC airavath takes around 14....

other priate operators takes 16-18 hours... why pay more and waste more time and money???

  9. See that Kallada fan is one of the very few person who loves to enjoy "mootakadi" , slow driving, late arrival etc etc......I can say there was only one private player which provided good services to Kerala till date and that was Raj National. But now see what happened to it? Other private "BAR buses" went against it and they were forced to hand over those buses to Sona Travels Aluva and those buses are now in such a pathetic condition now. I have heard those guys in Raj National saying in the past that its only our KSRTC people who is showing kindness to them when they face any problem on their way to Kerala......see from this what we come to know that private players dont like others even it is a private operator to provide good service to people....and KALLADA fan how can u compare ur kudu kudu kada kada kra kra kallada volvos with our Garuda eh??? 850 is less than 540 (from ekm-bglr)??????if u feel yes...better you go back to your school and learn maths......alla pinne.........teach ur kallada guys to behave properly to their passengers first....and onnu marannu.....if u see most of the private passengers....they are couples ;-) ......ellavarkumariyille.....enthinanu private buses oranum pennum orumichirunnal entha nadakunnathennu......ramayanavum mahabharathavum onnum discuss cheyyillallo alle sankar???? so u can make use of kallada buses for those activites....now many knew how mootasss come in private bus seats...ha ha ha.....sorry friends....i was forced to say these even i don't want to.....KSRTC is always great....within its limits.....

  10. i am a person among hundreds of other unfortunate malayalis in bangalore who have undergone the torture of travelling in KALLADA.Here are some instances.

1.back in 2005-tvm-blore Kallada volvo, it was my first trip in a volvo and i was on my way to blore to join christ college.unfortunately didnt know the torture i was abt to endure.bus stops suddenly at 7am in a bybroad in dharmapuri.the entire silencer and certain parts of the A/C rips apart from the rear of the bus.got delayed by almost 5hrs in an isolated area.cot delayed for my college induction ceremony.

October 2006-had to attend my cousins wedding, left madiwala in a KALLADA sleeper to klm.again had a breakdown near thamarasherri..reached kollam at 3pm only 8hrs late from the scheduled time.missed the marriage

these incidents coupled with similar incidents of my friends made me a true KSRTC traveler.

2006 end-Globus introduced in blore tvm sector-remedy from the misery of Kallada as well as other operators.correct timings, well trained and polite staff..i started enjoying it..

2008 December 18-was waiting to go home for christmas hols..booked tickets in the usual globus bus..but to my BIIIIIGGG surprise here comes the brand new GARUDA.The maiden trip from Blore to TVM.They did not charge a penny extra from anyone of us who have booked for the old globus bus..thats KSRTC..never had any difficulties in my trips to kerala after Garuda was launched...and the legacy continues...

  13. hi

i remember when i traveled to kottayam once in Kallada, they were loading their "materials" in bus and at last the cleaner GOT fed up and telling that why can't they declare this as a BAR. later early morning they deviated near valayar and it was traveling in side some forest and stoped in front of their BAR.but thankfully the load was fully unloaded within minutes as they had an army waiting for the bus arrival

  15. Kerala RTC have 3 Garuda Volvos. Two of them are running to Bangalore from Thiruvananthapuram. One is in Ernakulam Thiruvananthapuram route.

  16. When you book shama or kallada they will say that the arrival time is 4:30 AM and all, and I have travelled in shama as well as in kallada, their volvos are most of the times is a shame for even bullock carts. They will never reach bangalore before 7.

Today (27 Sept) Garuda reached bangalore at 4:30 AM at silkboard. I had set the alarm for 5:30, but fortunately woke up to get down. The time saved is worth the money payed - I am even willing to pay more for ksrtc. This too after going through many of the ksrtc stands.

Long distance travel, one major problem is lack of toilet brakes. As ksrtc goes inside transport stands, the staff never refuses any one ample toilet breaks. I have seen shama or kallada staff misbehaving with passengers for asking to stop for taking a leak.

Shama and kallada is infamous for stopping the AC when passengers are asleep. KSRTC never does that.

Kerala srtc should normalise the stops and cancel the stops announced in between the express way (the stops should be at the either end of the express way). This will save an hour or more lost in the huge traffic jam under the express way.

  19. KSRTC volvo is ok, but bad when compared to the private multi-axle volvos. Maybe because it is older than those B9R's. Seats are not that good, they don't provide blanket, and the worst part is that the AC would not be ON for most of the time! This is a blessing in disguise coz blanket is not provided.
Another problem is that it is pretty hot at the rear end, due to the engine.
I have to mention another fact- there is a glitch in their online reservation system! It shows only 4 rear seat- 41,42,44 and 45. But in reality, there are 5 seats! If you happen to book seat no.45 thinking it is a window seat, you'll be in for a not-at-all-pleasant surprise- it is the rear middle seat!! I learned this from experience!!
All in all, its not worth the 150 bucks you get to save if you opt against a private multi-axle volvo.
