With the private operators improving their services in terms of new buses and more facilities for passengers there will be shift of passengers from ksrtc to the private operators.Nowadays people prefer to travel in comfort and avail all the facilities even at a higher cost. This is indeed an alarm bell for Kerala RTC. It is high time that the Department launches new buses in this sector and meet the needs of the passengers before its too late.
A list of the major operators in Tvm-Blore sector
1.Kallada semi sleeper volvo b7r
2.Kallada semi sleeper non a/c
3.Yathra Travels semi sleeper A/C4.KPN semi sleeper volvo
5.KPN volvo B9r multi axle
6.Shaima volvo semi sleeper
7.Shama volvo B9r multi axle
8.Krnataka rtc Rjahamsa semi sleeper
9.Karnataka rtc Airavat Volvo
10.Karnataka rtc Airavat Volvo
11.Sofiya Lines volvo B9r multi axle
12.SRM volvo b9r multi axle
13.A1 semi sleeper non A/C
14.Kallada sleeper non A/C (kollam-Bangalore)
15.KERALA STATE ROAD TRANSPERT CORPORATION GARUDA VOLVO (one service)
Yea this is true..I saw their ad in vyatila in EKM .The agent seemed veru excited about it..I used sofiya lines which picked me up at 11.20 pm ( delay due to rain ) dropped me @ silk board
ReplyDelete@ 7. 15 am..
I hope our KSRTC and Sofiya will survive this intense competition in this sector.
KPN by the way has 4 services to TVM i i am not mistaken. Two multi axles , one regular volvo and one semi sleeper. as per KPN on line booking
That would add to a crazy five muli axles to TVM !!!!!!!!
8.Karnataka rtc Rajahamsa semi sleeper
ReplyDelete9.Karnataka rtc Airavat Volvo
these two buses are now terminated at Mysore as there are no additional permits for KaSRTC to operate between Karnataka and Kerala
From BLR KaSRTC operates only one Airavat Volvo to TVM
SETC is still operating BLR-TVM via Nagercoil it is UD bus
It's good to see the competition getting stiffened by now. We could see fastest buses crossing allepey @ 9 30 pm. Last bus to bangalore presently is SRM muti-axle volvo. There is only 10 min gap between keralasrtc , Sofiyalines and SRM. Thats the reason these three buses are always full. Nowadays its very difficult to get a seat in SRM on weekends. So it would be good if competition intensifies, we can see more operators tightening their belts. . We need still more buses to trivandrum because it connects many places. I stay in mavelikara, So if i have to go to bangalore either i have to catch a train /ksrtc/pvt operators from tvla or chengannur. For all these i have to leave my house at 2pm. Nowadays im able to catch these buses from haripad. All buses move to tvm stops at haripad. People from mavelikara, pandalam, pathanamthitta, thiruvalla all r benefitted by this stop. The most important thing is , i need to leave mavelikara at 19:00 it;s hardly 0.5hour to haripad. So the last bus can be taken to bangalore. Thats the reason these 3 buses are preferred. SRM is the latest addition and extraordinary. Simply amazing pace it runs. !!Haripad 20:35 bangalore 6:45 am. What a speed and what a bus. !!! Even sofiyalines toooooooo!!! All of a sudden SRM & Sofiyalines has taken the charge even Kesrtc tooo!!!. I think now its high time we need a multi-axle through mc road also. I mean we need operators like sofiya/SRM/KSRTC.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry, but this is the scene every where. Take the EKM-BGLR Route for example: There are three Karnataka SRTC Airavats in regular service. During weekends, they operate two extra airavats. In addition there are some 5-6 Rajahamsa regular services. In return, KeSRTC has only one Super express, and two AC buses (both via Mysore).
ReplyDeletePrivates:
1. Kallada B9R (ALP-BGLR)
2. Kallada B7R
3. Kallada AC Sleeper
4. Shama B7R
5. Sharma B7R
6. Sona B7R
7. Then there are countless non-AC buses from SPS, Sona, Kallada, A1, etc.
Even when comparing KaSRTC to KeSRTC, the Karnataka RTC beats us hollow. When will KeSRTC wake up??? Run atleast one AC service via Hosur - the Mysore buses take ages to reach Bangalore. The night service from BGLR reaches EKM only around 2-3 pm!
The bight service from blore to ekm is an ultimate disaster. I was a victim of that.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the new additiion of SHAMA, I could say that Kesrtc could not expect zero compeition in this arena especially tvm route, Only thing they can do is rise up to the situation bring in more buses, No body can win in this through symapthy. Also no point of introucing a bus through mysore as people consider time more than money now a days.Kesrtc should make use of the situation. It should not expect people to sit inside an express to travel to such a long journey( i mean the special schedule) At least invest some logic in the case of bglr ekm ac bus.
New feature of Sofiya lines
ReplyDeleteThe amenities we provide include plug points with every seat, mobile chargers of any make, on board entertainment and the list goes on We have our own restaurants providing mouth watering delicacies and we are proud to say that we are the only bus operator in the country offering free dinner to all our passengers. Another feature is an on board menu which helps you in pre ordering any special delicacy you want. All you have to do is dial the restaurant and place your order along with the seat number and the dish is served on reaching the restaurant, impressive isn’t it??
I think KSRTC should try TATA Hispano buses and give these private operaters a real challenge. No body improves without competetion.
ReplyDeletekpn B9r from tvm to blr via Nagercoil had met with an accident a couple of weeks back in tirunelveli.it collided with an omni carrying a marriage party killing 11 people.
ReplyDeleteSome snaps of TATA Hispano which is 25 Lakhs cheaper than Volvo and with Cummins Engines...with all the facilities of a Volvo.

smart,
ReplyDeletePics looks cool. Any idea about the performance?
SRM TRANSPORTS has ordered 6 multi axle volvos. Don't know which route they gonna put. Highest possibility is converting the 05.45 volvo into multi axle. In that case SRM runs three multi axles for TVM - Two for Chennai and one for Bangalore.
ReplyDeleteForget to mention the introduction of Parveen travels Multi axle Mercedes Benz Chennai-TVM.
How come TVM gets the best services , multi axles volvos , mercedez etc...why not cochin or other cities in Kerala ?
ReplyDeleteWe cant say like that. As mentioned above there are 9-10 volvo services to Bangalore from TVM daily evening (mostly multi's). But there are only three volvos for chennai from Trivandrum (2 SRM Travels and 1 Rathimeena). Also there are no proper service for Northern Kerala from Chennai. I think only Kallada runs Multi axle to Ernakulam via Pondicherry (source:www.kalladatravels.com)
ReplyDeleteWhy do cochin needs buses. Ippol thanne kore buses ille. more of KSRTC(karnataka) and kore private operators. I think athu thanne kooduthala and a train running from ekm-blr on sunday. Vere endu venam. People upto TVM doesnot have anything called as train other than island for which we have board in the afternoon. Thats the reason all good Multi-axles are plying over there. Even it connects many places.
ReplyDeleteProbably the next area of interest for the operators might be mainly MC road. So watch out for the good tri-axles through MC road upto Kottarakara or tvm connecting all the major cities like kottayam, tvla, chry, chengannur, adr, etc. I think after this only the priority will shift to cochin or any other place in kerala.
ReplyDeleteIsland Express will take an average of 16-17 hours to reach Thiruvananthapuram.
ReplyDeleteSee the fare for trains which is running to TVM.
Garib rath - 531 (15 Hours)
Island Express 3AC - 833 (17 Hours)
This is the reason that people are willing to pay 810 for KSRTC Garuda and 950 and 1000 for other private players which will take only 12-13 hours to reach the destination.
I read in some forum that SHAMA Transports actually was to buy the Mercedes Benz triaxle bus. But all of a sudden they Purchased B9R's like their buddies. Anyone knows why?
ReplyDeleteIT IS BECAUSE MERCEDES BENZ BUSES STILL REQUIRE MORE TIME TO ROLL ON ROADS AND SECONDLY THERE IS NO SERVICE CENTRE AVAILABLE IN BANGALORE.
ReplyDeleteVERY SOON, EXPECT A KALLADA MULTI-AXLE VOLVO A/C COMING ON BANGALORE-TRIVANDRUM SECTOR.
ReplyDeletesofia lines are gonna launch merc multiaxle buses in tvm sector...just spoke to their manager today...they are having some issues with the seating arrangement with the company..thats causing the delay..so now more intense competition...
ReplyDeleteeven i hear the same abt sofiya lines merc on the way from the owner Mr Shafi. but this was a while back..Not sure when they are launching though!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG IS it true even Kallada is coming out with a multi axle in tvm sector. I guess they would fail miserably since Sofiya and SRM has already a good brand name among passengers and Kallada has a bad image !!!!
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Tony
Wonder how Sharma travels is surviving. I just checked the seat availability on their web site and they have an amazing 47 seats empty!!!!!!how do they manage to run soo empty
ReplyDeleteRohit,
ReplyDeleteIn kerala bus quality is not that important, Its time and punctuality that matters a lot. Sharma travels is one the best operators in India, but they are not quick as SRM/sofiya lines. SRM is rite on the target . They are quick , comfortable and bus-maintenance is great. They have only one operation from coimbatore-chennai. Its leaves cbe at 10pm and reaches chennai at 5 45 am . Thats how they have captured the market . Moreover SRM has got enough buses . Even their ordinary college buses in chennai are air-conditioned. much better than interstate buses. So maintaining time is important as well as buses. So if Sharma can maintain time-discipline they can win the race else they might be like another Ka-srtc.
Shama has named their b9r service as "BIG BUS".according to some booking agents this new service is slowly picking up though they remain vacant most days.they are able to tap quiet a lot of the passengers from Kallada.the question is with new buses coming out everyday how is kerala rtc gonna face this challenge with just one volvo b7r service operating in a very important route like tvm-blr.
ReplyDeleteKSRTC will post the order for 7 Multi Axle volvo soon. They are waiting for the fund. Said a top official.
ReplyDeleteKSRTC already placed order for 10 multi axle Volvos. They will ply on Bangalore route.
ReplyDeleteHey anonymous guy, they haven't placed any orders.
ReplyDeleteThe news is correct. KSRTC placed order for Multi Axle Volvos. Will start opertaion soon.
ReplyDeleteBhatakan made similar comments when somebody else mentioned about KSRTC going for Multi Axle.Today he himself accepted same in Comment 30.
hey man, ksrtc still under the final discussions with the funds for buying those buses. At least 7 crore is needed to buy the buses.
ReplyDeleteThey haven't placed the order. They are going to give the order.
Sujith, in your post you have mentioned that KSRTC has decided to buy 8 volvos. Now it has changed to 7. Hope the number doesnt keep decreasing..
ReplyDeleteWhen can we expect these buses on road
KALLADA IS LAUNCHING MULTI-AXLE VOLVO FROM 19/06/2010 ONWARDS.DEPARTING AT 6.30PM FROM MADIWALA.
ReplyDeleteNOW WE CAN SEE THE RACE BETWEEN KALLADA, SHARMA, SHAMA, SOFIYALINES, SRM AS ALL THESE VOLVO MULTI-AXLE DEPARTS AT THE SAME TIME.
Sujith,
ReplyDelete7 means 6+ 1 spare rite. So we are gonna get multi-axle volvos only for 3 routes in kerala from keralasrtc. Out of which 1 route is tvm-blr. Any wild guess which are the other two routes which keralasrtc are planning to support with their MA-Volvos.
Renjith,is it only Sharma or does both Sharma and Shama operate multi axle volvos to tvm ??
ReplyDeletedoes Shama travels also operate mutli axle to tvm ?
ReplyDeleteBoth sharma and shama operate MA Volvo to trivandrum they have launched it by a gap of one week.
ReplyDeleteBOTH SHAMA AND SHARMA OPERATES MULTIAXLE VOLVOS TO TRIVANDRUM.
ReplyDeleteTHEY HAVE LAUNCHED IT BY A GAP OF A WEEK.
The only party escaped from this war is KPN Travels. They ply all the 3 buses- 2 multi's and 1 non a/c bus all via Nagercoil, Marthandam- a wise idea. Since there are no proper service to end of tamilnadu from bangalore, kpn travels easily wins the race. But they too put a Volvo mark-III via allepy.
ReplyDeleteHaha...7 ..6+1 multi axle volvo. If Central Govt. launches 1 evening train from Ban to TVM and provided it is a superfast (eg. Shatabdi), the show will turn upside down all the multis will become single axle..lol..
ReplyDeleteEach and every operator has a plus and negative points to travel.
ReplyDeleteFor safe, premium, reasonable fare, online booking KSRTC is preferable.
For adventurous,speed, premium, timely service
KeSRTC, sofiya lines, SRM travels
For multiple drop points
Shama, Kallada, Kpn travels
again for REAL online booking
KSRTC, SRM, SHARMA
New train? That too from bangalore to TVM? haha comedy of the year....
ReplyDeleteThey haven't made the ypr-knr express daily. And tell them to make the sbc-ekm super fast train daily.
The KSRTC Multi axle airavats are about to ply in Bangalore-Mangalore route. I don't think we can expect in TVM route.
ReplyDeleteWhy I am saying it is because the additional service launched by KSRTC (9400 via Mysore) is itself was stopped for unknown reason. Second point is, if KSRTC is really interested in this RACE it takes them no time in changing the present Mark-III into new 9400.
Bonus news: The 10 Mercedes Benz buses of KSRTC are about to put in Mysore-Bangalore route.
To Anonymous(pt 46)
ReplyDeleteKSRTC(karnataka) has got only one advantageie., online booking system. Their bus quality is not that good. Check the blr-tvm volvo by kasrtc , they are not good at all. Infact kesrtc has got a better volvo than kasrtc. Kesrtc's are fast not as fast as sofiya/SRM but stil it has got good pace than most other operators. Kesrtc looses its time mostly in palaghat for fuelling, thrissur for dropping(thrissur dropping should be made @ mannuthi not in tsr ksrtc stand). they can save 40 min by that. We could see a much better competition in blr-tvm sector soon . The competition is getting intensfied now. IF kesrtc introduces volvo they should introduce the MA's to these major routes , blr-tvm, blr-ktr and blr-ekm, else they are gonna loooooooose the competion straight . The routes should be through hosur, coimbatore not through mysore. Wish to see more sofiya/SRM's on track because that will allow the other operators to think about going for quality services. If anyone from sofiyalines are reading this post, i have a suggestion. Please develop a website like Abtxtravels or arctours.in . Pls allocate all the seats through online rather than agents and I bet that sofiyalines will be full everyday when compared to others because now it has become the most preferred operator.
AS OF NOW SOFIYALINES IS GOING AT AN AVERAGE OF 40-42 SEATS EVERYDAY. DEVELOPING A SOFTWARE IS NOT FEASIBLE ESPECIALLY TOWARDS KERALA AS MOST OF SEATS ARE RESERVED ONLY THROUGH AGENTS BY ALLOTMENT OF QOUTA SEATS. SECONDLY THROUGH ONLINE BOOKINGS SEATS WILL BE RESERVED TO FULL ONLY ON FRIDAYS AND HOLIDAYS. IF THE QUOTA SEATS ARE RELEASED FROM THE AGENTS THEN THOSE AGENTS WILL NOT BE INTERESTED IN BOOKING THE SEATS IN THAT SAME BUS THUS LOSING THE BUSINESS FOR THE OWNER. THAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE BENEFITED TO OTHER OPERATORS. IT IS ONLY DUE TO THIS REASON THAT SHARMA IS OPERATED BUY AN AGENCY AT MADIWALA AND NOT BY THEMSELVES AS THEY SHARMA DO ALL THE BOOKINGS ONLINE.
ReplyDeleteFOR BOOKING OF SOFIYALINES AND OTHER OPERATORS TOWARDS KERALA LOGON TO www.sreekrishnatravels.in
Really hope and wish good luck for sofiya lines to come out in flying colours out of this crazy competition!!!too bad they are not selling tickets on redbus any more .By the way happened to see Kalladas new multi axle parked outside their madiwala office y day late night.
ReplyDeleteI hope they dont harm our favorite SOFIYA too much :)
Reply to REJOY LEEN
ReplyDeleteThe rivalry or what we call a COMPETITION is fake in private bus travels. Let me tell you some of the facts which I know.
1. VRL travels had a service from Bangalore to Chennai B7r from early 2007, but it was stopped due to the mutual request by the BIG TWO operators from Tamilnadu, so they withdraw their service.
2. Their is always a good understanding between Rathimeena and Kpn travels right from the beginning itself. According to their agreement Rathimeena will take care of the down south cities in tamilnadu from Chennai while Kpn travels will do service from Bangalore.
you can spot that rathimeena and kpn travels have adjacent office in chennai as well as the parking in front of CMBT Bus stand.
3. Seabird tourists operated a afternoon and night Volvo service (later Isuzu) from Chennai to Bangalore which is taken care by Sangita travel agency(SHAMA SARDAR) from Early 2009. Again they too stopped their service in summer 2010. Guess why?
4. WHen the First accident of Kpn travels Multiaxle took place near Dharmapuri, they brought all their Multiaxles under Cruise control (tied at 100 km/hr), later they released it because of the multiple drop points they have. But the plain reason is simple to reach TVM within 13 Hours via TN.
5. (ANSWER TO COMMENT 48 RANJITH)TUpto my knowledge ABT Travels in the only operator who does not have a third party agency to take care of their operations. They put their own office at all their destinations. All of their waiting halls are airconditioned.
6. Being a newcomer and surviving the competition is really really a tough job in this business. As a matter of fact SRM, KPN, KALLADA, SHARMA, ABT TRAVELS everybody where BIGSHOTS. in that case we should truly encourage people like sofiya lines.
7. ABT travels and ARC tours are both from Same family only.
Reply to Anonymous 50,
ReplyDelete"ABT Travels in the only operator who does not have a third party agency to take care of their operations."
The point that you said is absolutely right.
Do you Expect ABTX Travels starting a service to any part of Kerala without a third party or an agency to take care of operation. I feel its highly Impossible otherwise by now they would have started it.
Nope! I dont think any operators based on tamilnadu is interested in giving in a new service to KL. Inspite of being the nearest state to Kerala I barely see any Travels doing Operations to Northern part of Kerala.
ReplyDeleteBut somehow a leaked news is Some Big Operator from Andhra is about to start a new service from Tirupathi to Trivandrum. Probably It should be Kesineni travels I think, because they are the one who started a New Multi axle from Hyderabad to Coimbatore.
I don't think Mercedes Buses doing a great job. Recently found in Sharma transports website they have transferred their mercedes bus working from Ban-Mumbai (I guess so!) to the Bangalore-Hyderabad schedule. It means Mercedes FAILED?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThey have changed mercedes benz to hyd route mainly because the mercedes benz schedule has been replaced by the multi-axle volvo at 6 30 pm kalasipalayam. Mercedes bus was exceptionally great. It had good interiors , nice seat good stereo systems. It has nothing to do with the quality of mercedes bus. Mercedes is really good , i can say its better than multi-axle at that point of time. Now let us wait for the mercedes 3 axle which i have seen once in pune plant. It looks great and much powerful to volvo. I think volvo will really be in pressure when that hits the market. It might not create big difference in the roads of kerala where it is narrow and cant overtake so easily but in mumbai-bangalore roads we can really find the lap-times coming down with that bus. The wrong impression that mercedes is bad has to be taken back from people's mind. To be frank its much better than volvo. I had not seen the seats in mercedes to be empty in blr-mumbai route. with mercedes "you are travelling with the star".
hmmm...probably the next time I visit Nagercoil I should try the Parveen's Mercedes triaxle. But the thing is I am patriotic to SRM Multi axle.

We can see there is a lot of difference between power between Merc and Volvo, thus confirming that mercedes is far ahead in quality of power . Waiting for mercedes ......on tvm-blr route sooooooooooooooooooon............
if you look at redbus tickets BLR -TVM , I see many unheard buses , like ATLAS multi axle ,and another 3 more volvos SHAIMA travels withe fares ranging up to 1200 RS . Any clue who these guys are ???????
ReplyDeleteTony
Atlas Multiaxle is the sharma Multi-Axle operated by atlas travels. And Shaima, they had operated the buses in trivandrum route due to the entry of three multi axle volvos within three weeks of time they have diverted the tvm bus to kottarakkara.
ReplyDeletethat 1200rs tkt was only for last friday i.e 18/06/2010. operated as a special service as they had a spare bus. But the service was cancelled as even a single seat was not booked.
Hey! Even me too say the redbus site. In the source I pick Bangalore and in destination list there is THIRUVANANTHAPURAM and also TRIVANDRUM.
ReplyDeleteMy question is how far is THIRUVANANTHAPURAM from TRIVANDRUM, and is there any single, double, tri, multi, quad-axles buses between these two cities.
Also I get to see MUMBAI as well as BOMBAY :(
what do you mean by the above, you dont know the difference between trivandrim and thiruvananthapuram.
ReplyDeleteThe old and the new names of all the cities are displayed as to get all the customers for example if a passenger searches buses to trivandrum he may not get that particular bus which shows thiruvananthapuram instead of trivandrum. and vice versa.
There are only single and double axle buses as of now in india.
I am getting a feeling that KSRTC Volvo is quietly benefiting from all the multi axles in TVM Sector. I was just going through the on tline tickets and KSRTC volvo has 26 seats available ( minus whoever is boarding the bus from the stand) and as per red bus PVT Volvos have equal or more vacant seats .
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I am correct , ani one has any thoughts on this ????
Tony
Just kidding Ranjith!
ReplyDeleteI knew both names are same. But displaying both the city names in the list is means its not USERFRIENDLY, its called SILLY. Any person capable of opening a website and booking a seat surely should have enough knowledge to know the city names.
The reason is right from the beginning itself there are not much Positive Response on Redbus.in Many passngers felt they are cheated by fighting with the bus operator on Spot or ending up calling the Customer Care (???) agent of redbus.
For example just type "redbus complaints" in Google Search and just take a look at the complaints thrown on redbus.
Again No Hard Feelings Ranjith!!!
hi Tony,
ReplyDeleteOf course KASRTC can be beneficial on two aspects ONLINE BOOKING and ECONOMICAL(correct me If I wrong) when u compare with PVT Volvos. All the private volvos charge from RS. 900 to 1100.
hi..shaima was operating as a substitute when shama withdrew their gold class from the tvm-blr sector..but they are still continuing the service inspite of the launch of Shama volvo br "big bus"..
ReplyDeletegud to see the discussion going gud...keep goin guys..
ReplyDeleteSHAIMA HAS STOPPED ITS SERVICE TO TRIVANDRUM WITH THE LAUNCH OF BIGBUS. THE BUS HAS BEEN DIVERTED OPERATING A SERVICE TO KOTTARAKKARA VIA THIRUVALLA, ALLEPPEY, ERNAKULAM AT 8.30PM DEPARTURE MADIWALA.
ReplyDeleteMR ANONYMOUS NO.62,
ReplyDeleteDO YOU KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO STILL DONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN (TRIVANDRUM AND THIRUVANANTHAPURAM), (KOLLAM AND QUILON), (ALLEPPEY AND ALAPUZHA),(ERNAKULAM, KOCHI, COCHIN) EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE ON COMPUTERS AND WEBSITE. IT IS NOTED THAT MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE UNAWARE OF THESE SIMILARITIES MIGHT BE NON-KERALITES.
shaima volvo looks very lousy with all that ugly paint job and black smoke comming o the exhaust..It looks very old . Which company is this ??Is it any way related to SHARMA /SHAMA??
ReplyDeleteThe bus look very old as well!!!!

ReplyDeletethats a great News. From when will the booking start
ReplyDeleteon which route ?is it Kerala or Karnataka ?
ReplyDeleteTo Rohit- I guess Shaima is old Shama Glod class
ReplyDeleteRgds,
Tony
My relative used Jeppiar from Chennai to Nagercoil , she said they start very lately, 06.00 pm scheduled time but they started at 07.15 pm only and said that seats are so narrow and not fully bending. The fact with SRM is if you book the 03.30 pm a/c bus to TVM and if the bus don't have enough passengers they will cancel the schedule and arrange the passengers in 0530 volvo a good idea (actually first started by KPN Travels)
ReplyDeleteCan someone confirm Multi axle volvo booking start date
ReplyDeleteBooking will start from Mid -July
ReplyDeleteHi anonymous,
ReplyDeleteWhats the correctness of your information???
who had declared that MA's of kesrtc will start from mid-july. I still doubt!!!...........KERALAsrtc will think million times before buying tri-/axlessssssssss. Anyways let uz wait n seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
People! Make sure whether it is KASRTC or KESRTC to buy Multi axle volvo!!!!
ReplyDeletedid any one hear of the kallada accident in salem on Sunday near salem where two passengers passed away. One happened to be a famous doc in Kotayam!! It was Bangalore - pathanamthitta volvo i guess.
ReplyDeleteAny news links or pics?????
ya i heard it from my friend who is close to Rajiv Kallada. its true..and moreover i met a driver who happened to see the accident spot. it seems the driver dozed off resulting in the crash.
ReplyDeleteVisit the following link for accident pics & news
ReplyDeletehttp://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian-car-scene/2576-accidents-india-pics-414.html
ahhh KALLADA !!!!!!!!!Not again
ReplyDeleteheard some disappointing news ..Sofiya lines canceled their service TVM today due to shortage of passengers. Hope they don't wind up due to less business with too much availability o buses in TVM sector
ReplyDeleteOh. Thats bad!!!Sofiyalines should provide ticket booking through redbus/ticketwala etc. Else its difficult to search an agent who is an authorised agent for sofiyalines.
ReplyDeletewe will have to wait till mid august to come back into the business as it is a bad/off season right now.
ReplyDeleteTruly Bad! Surfed Srmtransports.in for Bangalore-trivandrum, In that they alloted only 8 seats for online booking and the rest of the seats to the agent. That 8 seats too come in the middle 26, 27 etc. I would always prefer the front row seats 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, like that. If they give all the seats available online it might be useful. Like sharma transports, ABT travels etc.
ReplyDeleteMostly cancellation of Buses happen only if both buses has no passengers, Sorry, It happened to Sofiyalines
yeaa ..really hope Sofiya does well..The occupancy level in kesrtc volvo is also in bad shape....Some days no tickets sold at all(online) and available seats 44. Do they run the service on such days ??
ReplyDeleteWonder why passengers are ignoring good service provieers like KESRTC and sofiya and going for crazy operators like kallada !!
surprisingly KASRTC VOLVO seems to manage well somehow !!!
The answer is STEREOTYPE rohit! They don't tend to change the mode of trnsport even though there are many available. Take mY case,
ReplyDeleteWhen I want to travel from Chennai-Bangalore my Ist preference will be train, IInd will be KSRTC Volvo and 3rd will be Rajahamsa; even though there are plenty of SETC UD's, KPN Multi axle volvo, Premium Operator like ABT Travels, SRM Travels, Parveen Kinglong Bus i dont use them.
IF I want to go to Coimbatore I will first prefer KPN Berth A/C, 2nd ABT Travels, 3rd ARC Travels, 4th SRM Volvo. I dont prefer trains, Conti travels, SETC A/C etc
If I want to go to Nagercoil to see my Fiance' defenitely SRM Multi axle Volvo, no rathimeena 9400 or ABT Travels.
Like that if a passengers is used in KSRTC volvo to TVM he don't try any other operator or even care about any other buses. Many of them not interested in trying them. Again, take me, When I travel alone I always prefer either seat no 1 or seat no. 4,but If I was travelling my Family members I would reserve middle seats only.
good answer:)
ReplyDeleteBangalore-Mumbai, Bangalore-Trivandrum are the only two routes, where every bus plying are new and mostly multiaxles. In Mumbai-Bangalore VRL, Sharma, National, HKB travels, KSRTC, S.R.S travels all are using either multiaxle or 9400 buses only. And the bad buses route is Bangalore-Hyderabad; APSRTC uses so called 9400 (shabby, ill, maintained volvo), KSRTC Mark-1, Mark-2, Kesineni-Mark 2, Diwakar New 9400 but stupid staff, Geepee Multiaxle Volvo the worst operator, Dhanunjaya travels-Bad timing (they enter all the cities next only to APSRTC Luxury)
ReplyDeleteSOFIYALINES WAS CANCELLED NOT DUE TO LOW OCCUPANCY. IT IS DUE TO THE WHOLE BUS MAINTENANCE INCLUDING THE ENGINE AND THE PAINTING BEING DONE TO THAT PARTICULAR BUS. IT IS POSSIBLE ONLY AT THIS TIME WHERE THE OCCUPANCY WILL BE LESS DUE TO UNSEASON. BOTH THE BUSES WILL BE WILL BE FULLY FIT FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATIONS WITHIN ONE WEEK.
ReplyDeletewell that is good news then
ReplyDeleteGreat News! Sofiyalines/SRM shouldnot be cancelled unless there is very serious issue. These two operators along with Kesrtc are most favorites among all ...
ReplyDeletei am so glad to hear the news!!!welcome back sofiya in its new outfit !!!Sofiya should expand to more destinations .I have even heard ppl living in cochin taking abt merits of Sofiya even though it is not a mainstream operator there
ReplyDeleteany clue if they are actually launching the MERC MULTI AXLE ????????????
i wish the owner of Sofiya could see this blog!!!soo many appreciations for his hot babe "SOFIYA"
ReplyDelete@ rohit
ReplyDeleteyes rohit sofiya is launching merc multi axle soon..i happened to meet its manager in choice travels madiwala..he confirmed it to me.
the delay is just that they have an issue with the company regarding the seating arrangement..so it can be expected shortly..
Vow merc multi-axleeeeeeeeeeee. Let it come.. Eagerly waiting to seeeeee volvo-B9R's getting outlapped inn the roads............

ReplyDeleteSaw a couple of Brand new SRM Multiaxel in trivandrum yesterday moring at transort bhavan.
ReplyDeleteI dont think it would be to BLR if its waiting to be registered in Kerala.BLR bound buses are usually registered in Karnataka to save taxes. The ones you saw could be for Talmilnadu
ReplyDeletecompetition in TVM sector driving ticket prices downwards. Now sharma travels offering BLR -TVM @RS 900
ReplyDeleteGuess they are getting a bit desperate running empty except on weekends
@rohit
ReplyDeleteoh..thats interesting news. heard that sharma is not having a good run in this route.lets wait can watch..how will sofiya,SRM,Kallada and shama react?

ReplyDeleteSRM travels is going to launch one more multi axle volvo to Trivandrum from Bangalore, they are in a hurry to do it before their Pal Sofiya lines start the Mercdes Multi axle.
ReplyDeleteAlready SRM started 1 more multiaxle to chennai via pondicherry
well it looks like all of them are at RS 950. INCLUDING Sofiya which was @ rs 1000 before . May be the dinner package might have been taken off.Not sure!!
ReplyDeletehmm. Everyone where talking about SRM, Sofiyalines, KESRTC 9400, Airavat. Why no one is giving importance to the good old KPN travels, Shama and more importantly Kallada ?
ReplyDeleteAre they not upto the Mark?
kpn- Too slow, stops in Salem for disel in one pump and another side of the by pass for parcel.Besides dirty toilets , unfriendly staff , and veg resturant while going back from Bangalore . Seen non malayali staff at times.
ReplyDeleteGood quality buses
Kallada- Never departs on time, over all poor quality buses except the new multi axle, stops too many times
SRM & SOFIYA has given a new dimenstion to travel. On time arrival , good resturants(Sofiya infact has a 50 rupee food coupon included in the ticket with a bottle of water and an extra cushion) , no wastage of time , friendly staff .
srm has started operating second multiaxle volvo on blr-tvm sector via nagarcoil
ReplyDeletekpn has converted its regular volvo to Multi Axle , the bus via Ernakulam . So one more multi for Trivandrun
ReplyDeletesrm starts chenai to thiruvalla multiaxell via ekm
ReplyDeleteHi friends.
ReplyDelete(got some info from reliable source)
With in two to three weeks there will be a Mercedes Benz Multi Axle in BLR-PTA route.Am not mentioning the operator. But for a clue ,they recently introduced thier BIG BUS B9R in TVM-BLR route. Now you guys might have got an idea who the operator is...They are also introducing BLR-EKM B9R from Oct 1.
Also heard that sofiya is being undertaken/managed by padikkal travels and the two B9R multi axle of sofiya are for sale, reason being old operators Kallada and Shama are back with thier B9R s.The popularity of these two are increasing because Sofiyalines is getting breakdowns very frequently(atleast 6 times last month),also people have stopped preferring SRM because of thier overspeed.
Is it true that Yathra has started Multi Axle service to TVM? The same shows up on redbus & yathra online booking portal.Probably sofiya already sold hu ?
ReplyDeleteHARIRAM ,
ReplyDeletei do not know why nobody speaks about jeppiaar travels.i will tell you it's the best .usually i always travel by jeppiaar from chennai to nagercoil;once i had a chance to go by jeppiaar ,the bus was the one on the trivandrum -chennai sector.i boarded the bus at nagercoil by 8.30 pm,and we started by sometime around 8.45 pm.and surprisingly i reached chennai by something around 5.55 am in the morning .that is like only 9.10 hours including a 15 min break in tirunelveli and routine stop at ulundurpettai for another 15 mins.when i spoke with the driver he told me that he was consistently maintaining 90-100 kmphr, that is evidently true because on the way he overtook the srm volvo that runs on the chennai-tuticorin route and was a lot quicker the rathimeena volvo (the new b7r in the tvm-chennai route)as we even overtook that one. thus i will tell you try jeppiaar its the best!!!!!!!!
SRM MULTI Axle crashed again ?? Vyatila yesterday..Any pics ??

one more multi axel in chennai - tvpm bharathi travels start service
ReplyDeleteoh thats scary picture. Pls dont post the pictures of SRM Volvo. We love travelling by SRM than any bus in India. Accident happens sometimes, still they are the best. Their drivers push the machines to its limits. Thiruvalla-chennai seems to be fastest bus. Most of the time, i have found them safe. Im a regular traveller of chennai-tvla bus. It's time at tvla is around 7 30 am but because of chennai traffic at CMBT it gets delayed still its better . Its a best alternative to train... Always SRM..
ReplyDelete-An SRM fan.
One more bus service to start Trivandrum - chennai Service. This time it's ARC travels
ReplyDeleteThey are starting from nov 18th onwards They are also planing to start Trivandrum -Banglore service
Good to hear that ARC is starting a new bus. But i really doubt whether it will shake the collection of the best inter-city private operator- SRM. In kerala, SRM has created a real good trustworthy trademark among inter-city operators. Its very much clear that if SRM starts new routes to kerala either from bangalore or chennai., they will have good level of occupancy. Every operator in India has to learn from SRM about their quality and value for time. Good luck to ARC and wish SRM to continue with their best services and increase more services to kerala like the trivandrum and thiruvalla which are exceptionally great..!!!
ReplyDeleteParveen travels to start some more routes from Trivandrum . They are waiting for there next set of tri-axel to arrive.
ReplyDeleteTrivandrum - Banglore (Ngl-Tvl - Mdu)
yathara travels also plans to start 2 multiaxel for Trivandrum From banglore 1 each via Ekm and Ngl
ReplyDeletekesineni travels starts Hyderbad - ernakulm from 11th dec
ReplyDeleteDep - 13.00hrs
also planning to start Tirupathy - trivandrum.
tirupathy - ernakulam service
Yeah , We Love SRM & Parveen.... both for the best of services in CH <> TVM <> CH.... They are terrific in terms of SPEED / COMFORT. RATHIMEENA sucks to the core... guys, KPN has the worst of Multi Axle Volvo's not maintained, unruly staffs and real maniacs in offices in Banagalore , Trivandrum and Chennai. Let these KPN / Rathimeena guys learn from SRM & PARVEEN about the customer service and maintenance. For sure they would be thrown out of the market and see these guys begging for money. Cheers !
