The route deviation started from yesterday onwards. The new route will connect the bus to Palakkad, Pollachi, Palani, Thanjavur and Nagapattanam towns. People who wants to go to Palani Temple and Velankanni church can make use of this service. Previously the bus was running via Palakkad, Coimbatore and Thanjavur.
I hope the new route will help a lot of passengers who are going towards Pollachi and Palani from Changanassery, Kottayam region.
Nowadays, the bus is well maintained and running decently without any complaints. It is getting a good collection also. The bus starts at 3 Pm from both Changanassery and Velankanni.

ReplyDeleteMay collection point of view good..But tedius for the peoples who travels directly to Velankanni....Overnight sitting is difficult till 9A.M. to reach velankanni!!!!!

ReplyDeleteMay be this will help in getting additional revenue, but from the point of travellers , it will be hectic roads are very bad and i think its going to take extra time

and other best services operated are 01 FP tvm thirunalveli and GVR (but operated from PTA CHRY GVR
i hope CHRY depot will get some more premium services --
I feel SETC is taking care of CHRY depot more than KSRTC

Ohh God.. what a idiotic route!!! i used to stay in Trichy til last yr and used to travel in this Bus quite often. It will definitely take much more time if the route is as mentioned by Dyna holidays. then once the bus goes to udamalaipettai, the bus need not go to Karur, which adds onto extra Kms and Bad roads.. instead from Udamalaipettaii, it should go to Dindugul, get on to NH45 and reach Trichy directly..
ReplyDeleteSecondly, this bus will reach Palani around midnite 12 as per the schedule of leaving Pkd at 930pm. its such an odd time n not recommended for tourists to reach there at that time due to security reasons. Palani is notorious for snatchers n touts..
thirdly.. when we have a dedicated service to Velankanni, y couple it with Palani. it wil only add discomfort to passengers. instead start a bus which leave's late from Chry, takes the thrissur-Vadakanchery-kollengode-pollachi-palani route thereby saving time, money n fatigue, reach palani in the morning which is more convenient to pilgrims..
the route is not too long . bus will reach palani at 12am and then through DINDUGAL-TIRUCHI-TANJAVOOR-VLKNI . DINDUGAL AT 1.20AM.Road are not very bad, there are some difficulties only due to the constructions under progress.
ReplyDeletevery good staright road with wind mills on each side gives a pleasent look. NIGHT VIEW IS BETTER THAN COIMBTRE ROUTE. reach velankanni at the same time: 7AM ,ON ALL THE 3 TIMES WHEN I TRAVELLED IN IT.
And both the buses meet together at palakkad-palani route and they always make a short conversation..................our velankanni bus improoved a lot.......most prestigius service by rtc,have a very good name in tamilnad.

ITS NOT A SHORT ROUTE FOR VELANKANNI.CHANGANACHERRY-VANDIPERIYAR-KUMILI-THENI-DINDIGUL-TRICHY-THANJAVUR-NAAPATTINAM-VELANKANNI IS CORRECT& SHORT ROUTE.THIS WAY MAY SAVE ABOVE 100 KM'S IN A SINGLE.
