There was a news in the Malayala Manorama Daily, Cochin Edition on May 12, 2010 in Page 9 illustrating the misbehaviour oaf a conductor with a lady passeneger in a KSRTC bus. Instead of giving the balance amount of the ticket the conductor gave his mobile number on the back side of the ticket. The news is reported from Ambalapuzha stating that the issue occured in the bus that was going from Vandanam to Kayamkulam on Monday.
The lady gave complaint to the police. The conductor reached the police station and begged pardon and thus the issue was settled.
Even though the conductor asked sorry, should such conductors misbehaving with lady passengers be retained in KSRTC without any departmental actions. KSRTC MD must take some actions against this person which will be a lesson for other conductors also.
Readers, share your comments and your experiences with such or similar situations.
It is a matter of serious concern that KSRTC conductors are frequently misbehaving with passengers. This needs to be curbed by taking stringent action against such defaulters. I would like to mention that I also fell victim to an arrogant conducor. Once a Conductor had to return me Rs.9/-. So he said he didn't have change although he had sufficient change with him. When my destination came and as I had to get down from the bus, I again asked him for the balance. Very arrogantly he asked me to bring Re.1/- change and take back Rs.10/- from him. Then when I asked him to get down from the Bus and accompany me to the Station Master for lodging a complaint against him, he got frightened and immediately gave me Rs.9/- change. Such arrogant conductors must be punished. We all know that KSRTC MD Sen Kumar Sir is a very honest, upright and responsible officer. We hope he will take suitable action against such misbehaving conductors.
Today also witnessed an arrogant conductor of EKM Depot KSRTC MALABAR Bus, refusing to give balance. I had to pay a ticket fare of Rs.7, and gave a 10 Rs. note. The conductor demanded for Rs.2 so that he can give Rs.5 in return. I had no change with me and my negative reply made the conductor to went on his way. Several passengers boarded enroute & I saw the conductor giving balance of Rs.1,3,&5 to everybody. I again asked him the balance and he said harshly that he will give the balance only if I gave him Rs.2. When he saw me becoming serious he quickly gave Rs.2.5 and went off. I let him go. Shortly another passenger also became the same victim just as me and that guy became so angry. While getting down from the bus another guy asked for balance. The conductor let him down and gave double bell!!! +e surely dismissed!!!
My suggestion is to file a group complaint. when ever such incidents happen file a complaint. Frequently complaints may lead to corrective actions from the top authorities. Let's hope for the best.
I am such a one does not give 3 ruppees to 7 ruppee for 10 ruppee notes.u people dont know what a heart trumpling experience to conduct a bus wihtout no change in hand. Most often people give a minimum of 500 Rs in long services. They think this as a safest way to make change. What can u do if u got plenty of these 500 rupees. It is not possible to give balance as u want.Amidst of this one man will board on with 100 rupee for a 7 rupee ticket. How can we give back all these change. We are not magicians. So u have to doi is that 1.Please board on with change with u.2.In case u dont have change please get the balance written on the ticket.U can collect it from the depot.3.Please avoid boarding on for just to make problems and cheap comments on KSRTC.Remember this not as u think ,this is a govt.job and it is having high amt of responsibilities.Try to understand that no conductor is sitting in his seats freely as u think. They are sitting with several calculations and with a blown mind.Off course the blown mind is originated as a result of the cruel policies of KSRTC and public towards these hard woking people.Ask more about ur relatives work in KSRTC about my openions. They surely have something to say about these. Also most of the conductors are working for about 24 hrs continously without taking enough food. Also u leave ur change if u can, if the conductor is working on ticket rack(mean no machines). We are working in KSRTC just on the reason that this is a govt. undertaking company. Please do not crucify us.

ReplyDeleteMD Sen Kumar cannot do anything to these conductors. The political parties support them. Trade Unions are the problem for KSRTC.
