KSRTC had two stay buses in kozhencherry. One to Trivandrum at 5.15 and one to Chengannur Railway Station at 5.10. But unfortunately the Chengannur bus is now starting from Pathanamthitta Depot. KSRTC Buses which is starting from Kozhencherry and passing through Kozhencherry are parking on the road side near to the private bus station.
The T.K.Road ( Tiruvalla-Pathanamthitta-Kumbazha Road / SH - 07 ) and M.K.Road (Mavelikkara-Kozhencherry Road) connects the town to other major towns.
Burning Issues Of Kozhencherry
Kozhencherry Private Bus Station cum Shopping Complex is still an unfulfilled dream of the peoples. In the recent years, the present CPM-led ruling Leftist Panchayat Council demolished the existing bus-station and now it looks like a graveyard. Peoples are suffering due to this and they are agitating for a modern bus-station.
Start a KSRTC Bus Depot or Operating Center in Kozhencherry
Kottayam - Kozhencherry Service is running by Mallappally Operating Center Can be shifted to Kozhencherry. Presently this route is the monopoly of private bus operators. When KSRTC started service in this route, they started getting a nice collection from this and now we can see that private bus lobby is playing behind this and it started affecting the ksrtc chain service.
Religious Festivals Like Maramon Convention, Cherukolpuzha Hindu Parishad, Aranmula boat race etc are very nearer to Kozhencherry. And on these particular periods They will start a temporary operationg center in Cherukolppuzha & Maramon from Pathanamthitta & Thiruvalla Depots Respectively. If they are starting a sub depot in kozhencherry, it will be very easy to conduct more services during that time.
If they start a new sub depot in Kozhencherry, they can connect kozhencherry to the nearest cities likePathanamthitta, Chengannur, Mallappally, Tiruvalla, Ranni, Vadaserikara, Parumala, Mannar, Edathua, Changanacherry, Konni, Pandalam, Adoor, Mavelikkara, Haripad, Kayamkulam, Pathanapuram, Kottarakkara,Karukachal, Kanjirappally.

ReplyDeleteKozhenchery sub-depot okke veno!!! First mariyathekku pathanamthitta depot'il ninnu bus odikkaaan thudanagatte nammalude transport corp. PTA depot can be made profitable first by linking tvla-bangalore bus. All the long distant services from tvla should be originated from pathanamthitta not from thiruvalla. I really dont understand why mathew.t.thomas has done a big blunder like this. The buses should be run based on necessity of the passengers not based on his home-ground preference. If he was the minister , he might have converted the coimbatore service to cbe-tvla.
When there are 2 depots(TVLA & PTA) nearby there is no need.Ranni is also coming up.It is better to strenghten these depots than building new ones every 15 kms.

A sub-depot or at least an operating centre is required at Kozhencherry. Kozhenchery being the intersection point of two major State Highways (Thiruvalla- Kumbanad and Mavelikara-Kozhenchery )requires a strong presence presence of KSRTC . These state highways are connecting the major towns of Central travancore including Pathanamthitta, Thiruvalla, Chengannur and Mavelikara. Kozhencery is also the point for connecting these towns to Ranni. KSRTC Kozhenchery depot could run chain services in Thiruvalla- Kozhenchery-Ranni, Thiruvalla-Kozhenchery-Pathanamthitta, Kozhenchery-Chengannur-Mavelikara-Kayamkulam sectors. Sujith, this is a welcome suggestion. Wholehearted support for you.
ReplyDeleteAt any cost no need to start Depot @KZHY..Very few need Public transport since this place is dominated by upperclass..Majority belong to NRI's/affluent class who own more than one vehicle in thier home...Why should KSRTC bear loss for them?Hw many people are there in KZHY Town after 7.30P.M. ?Money &resource spend for Depot.can be located where people solely depend on KSRTC!!!!
